Miami City Ballet
“Glass Pieces”, choreographed in 1983 by Jerome Robbins to a Phillip Glass score, was premiered in Miami in the sensational opening night of 2017 at the Adrienne Arsht Center. The piece referenced aleatoric music; the corps dancers walked through the soloists. It was like watching people in a crowded terminal or on city streets. George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins are legendary for their work with the New York City Ballet where Lourdes Lopez, Artistic Director of Miami City Ballet, was Soloist and Principal Dancer.
