Friends of Chamber Music

Friends of Chamber Music has been fortunate to have the Kalichstein Laredo Robinson Trio, Joseph Kalichstein, Piano, Jaime Laredo, Violin, and Sharon Robinson, Cello, performing in Miami for the past 30 years, perhaps longer, since they are celebrating 40 years as a Trio. Their opening performance of 2017 at the University of Miami Gusman Hall featured a new piece, Pas de Trois, composed in 2016 by Pulitzer Prize winning composer, Ellen Taafe Zwilich. New music is like new branches on a tree. The Pas de Trois was followed by Mendelssohn’s Trio No.2 in c minor and Brahms’ Trio in B Major, Op.8., an early work written when the composer was just 20, and very much part of the Schuman’s circle.
